Lo sforzo imprenditoriale in campo ceramico fu notevole fra il 1850 e il 1880. Alessandro Musso, succeduto al padre Benedetto nella proprietà e nella direzione della prima fabbrica, nel 1850 trasformava un altro opificio, sito in Mondovì Carassone, già adibito alla follatura della lana, in fabbrica di terraglia: nasceva il « Follone » Annibale Musso, figlio anch'esso di Benedetto, edificava nel 1851 in Villanova di Mondovì u n a fabbrica di ceramica che, in breve tempo, riscuoteva notevole successo.

Nel 1943 gli accordi per il funzionamento dell' « Ufficio Unico Consorziale » non vennero rinnovati a causa della particolare situazione. Dopo la parentesi bellica, le industrie del monregalese riprendevano la loro attività man mano che i rifornimenti di combustibile e materie prime ricominciavano a normalizzarsi. L'andamento favorevole del mercato dei prodotti ceramici ne consentì un facile collocamento a prezzi discretamente remunerativi. Lo sviluppo industriale e commerciale continuò per diversi anni, malgrado u n a diminuzione nella produttività delle maestranze.

I fabbricanti di terraglia tenera e di stoviglie ordinarie vedevano diminuire progressivamente le vendite mentre le tasse e le spese di esercizio avevano un incremento notevole. Sembrava imminente ed inevitabile un collasso generale. La fabbrica di Felice Musso, il « Follone » in Carassone, fu acquistata dalla più forte ed efficiente Società Ceramica Richard Ginori nel 1897. Anche la fabbrica Giuseppe e Federico Besio nel Borgatto, già rilevata da Felice Musso, fu ceduta alla Richard Ginori e da questa rivenduta e destinata ad ospitare altre attività.
